What we do

Field Monitoring & Structural Assessment Laboratory

The Laboratory focuses on field and in-situ work using portable equipment to assess the condition, material properties and dynamic behaviour of buildings and infrastructure. It develops and applies non-destructive testing methods, structural sensors, thermography and environmental monitoring to provide reliable evidence for engineering decisions.

Methods

  • Ultrasonic pulse velocity and concrete tomography
  • Rebar cover mapping, layout and diameter verification
  • Dynamic testing for natural frequencies, mode shapes and damping
  • Steel thickness and corrosion assessment
  • Infrared thermography and pollutant monitoring

Services

  • On-site structural condition surveys
  • Concrete quality and crack detection
  • Reinforcement and steel-element assessment
  • Structural health monitoring and technical reports
