What we do

Environmental Hazards & Engineering

Effective climate-change adaptation requires a robust understanding of global warming and the risks it creates. The Institute investigates climate dynamics and their interaction with environmental pollution, covering geological hazards such as landslides and avalanches; meteorological hazards including droughts, heatwaves, snowstorms, hail and tornadoes; hydrological hazards such as riverine and flash floods; and wildfires influenced by climatic and human factors.

Methods

  • Environmental monitoring and data analysis
  • Hazard and impact modelling
  • Policy-relevant risk and adaptation analysis

Services

  • Multi-hazard risk assessments
  • Climate adaptation studies
  • Environmental monitoring and technical reporting
